About Me

Hi! I’m Erin. Thanks for stumbling onto my corner of the internet where I share about my experience on The Camino de Santiago.

I’m a happily married, therapist, dog mom who completed Camino Portugués (Senda Litoral + Spiritual Variant) solo in May 2026, and I’m already excited to return someday for another Camino.

Why “The Bougie Camino?”

I took over 3,000 photos and videos during my 16 days on the Camino de Santiago, and wanted a place to reflect further about my experiences, share photos, and hopefully help someone else in a similar life stage plan for their Camino.

Early on in my Camino journey, I started joking with trail friends that I was doing “a bougie Camino” - meaning: I wasn’t staying in the municipal albergues every single night; I used a luggage transfer service; and my Camino was sprinkled just the right amount with nice hotels, nice meals, rest day activities, and spa experiences. For me, it was perfect. One of the things I ended up loving the most about the Camino was the emphasis on doing your own camino - your own way.

My own Way involved a year of researching, planning, and training for the Camino Portugués (because that’s who I am as a person). And honestly, there’s not too much I’d change about it. I figured, if any of what I learned or enjoyed helps someone else complete the Camino their own way, I’d be absolutely thrilled. So here I am, sharing my experience with the world. I’m thankful you’re here, and I wish you a Buen Camino!
